Fort Reno Summer Concert Series To Begin Monday June 23
Now deemed "arsenic free" and safe for all, Fort Reno will again host its annual Summer Concert Series on Mondays and Thursdays beginning on Monday June 23 with Olivia Mancini & the Housemates, New Rock Church of Fire, and Evolution.
Fort Reno has hosted these concerts every summer for over 30 years. The concerts feature a mixture of seasoned touring bands, young bands just developing their sound and high school bands for whom this may represent their first time on stage -- all from the Washington, DC musical underground. Many, many Dischord bands have played Fort Reno over the years and perhaps more importantly -- many of the musicians who later formed bands that were on Dischord gained their first live experience with high school bands that played Fort Reno.
Once funded by the city, The NW Youth Alliance (the volunteer group that manages the concerts) now relies solely on private donations for their entire budget and could definitely use your support.
