I was one of the promoters of this show. I was the Rock Director for KNON and we sponsored it. I’ll never forget working with Ian and the Fire Department to save the show. I was running around between the Dept and the band. I finally got them to let the show go on if everyone moved outside. I had to go on stage and tell Ian and the audience. I had on a military-style jacket and looked kinda like I was with the Fire Dept. When I told the crowd a couple of people shouted at me and Ian walked to the microphone and defended me. It was one hell of a night but everyone outside took it really well and Fugazi was amazing. Thank you, Ian and all of Fugazi plus the fans for making it a night to remember.

This warehouse was my friend Mike Morris' (RIP) place. My buddy, Patrick Hooker's band, Last Rites opened (Patrick has a great restaurant in Berkeley, CA, called Babette, now, go eat his beautiful food). Ian was amazing, keeping everyone calm, and figuring out what to do. One of the photos you can see someone's legs in the frame at the top, as they "Stage Dived" off Fugazi's Ryder Truck, outside. Ian and Guy stayed at my house, that night, and I woke REALLY early, to find Ian and my toddler eating cereal from the box and watching cartoons. Best part of the story: Kelly Keys, of Direct Hit Records, got fined by the city, for the show, and Ian sent her a check, I believe, for more than what they made that night, to cover the fines. Probably the most awesome people in rock&roll, ever.

Definitely need to listen to this one. Coming to it after watching the library of congress event with Ian.

My first show ever! I'll never forget the fire marshall plowing through the crowd, the singer from Last Rites asking for people not to stage dive because the stage was too wobbly, or the few brave souls diving off the Ryder truck over gravel. Always impressed me that the show went on despite us not seeing it. So glad this exists. Thanks guys

I was here, and have photo prints from outside, and inside before they kicked everyone out, and of last rites playing. a friend took video I'm sure he'd share, it's great, and he was inside during the show, and talked with Joe and Brenan afterwards on tape too.

The best 5 bucks I ever spent.

What a great show! Seriously this is one to download. It starts with about 22 minutes of pretty much dead air as the logistics of moving the audience outside play out, plus there is another 8 mins of crowd ambiance from outside the venue tacked in at the end of the show. So thats about 30 mins of non-music on the tape, but guess what, it dosent matter. The 14 songs played in Dallas that night are high energy and well performed. Sound quality is very good as well. Repeater had only been out a few weeks at this point and the band sounds ready to attach the fresh material. I play this show more often than most of the others I have downloaded. You probably will too.

How crazy or absurd can it possibly get?!! I love this recording, love it! The scene documented outside of the gig included at the end of the recording is both hilarious (listen to Joe Anonymous worry about his car keys as he wants to go stagedive) and essential listening :-)

Wow. I remember how incredibly disappointed everyone was about this show being shut down. Kudos to Fugazi for playing on while we listened from outside. Can't wait to hear it again.
